    Autism and Women

    ACCESS THE FULL VIDEO HERE.

Autistic women have historically been misunderstood and underdiagnosed. These women describe a feeling of ‘not fitting in’ throughout their childhood and adolescence, and have experienced anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. Our goal is for attendees to leave with clear information on women and autism, and with tools and strategies to manage common areas of challenge as well as insight into areas of unique strength.

**A note on language: This webinar uses the language 'on the spectrum'. Since this webinar was originally recorded and released the autistic community have expressed a preference for 'on the spectrum' not to be used. Where possible (i.e. in the webinar description and title) language has been updated accordingly.

    Big Feelings

    ACCESS THE FULL VIDEO HERE.

Many neurodivergent kids, including autistic kids and ADHDers, experience strong emotions, and this can lead to meltdowns, aggression, panic attacks, running away, or complete shutdown. It can be difficult to know how to respond to this as a parent, carer, or educator. Our goal is for attendees to leave with clear information on why ND kids have such big feelings, and what you can do as an adult to support them to develop strong emotion regulation skills long term and to manage their emotions in the moment.

    Neurodivergence and Learning

    ACCESS THE FULL VIDEO HERE.

Does your child or student have difficulty keeping organised, planning their approach to tasks, and understanding what is being asked of them? These are some of the key challenges that autistic and ADHDer children face at school. Difficulty with focus and concentration and with staying calm enough to persist with tasks can be further blocks to learning for neurodivergent kids. BUT! If we can teach neurodivergent kids with their neurobiology in mind, we can allow them to thrive at school and not just survive.
